Big River Steel Expansion Project This week, I traveled to Osceola to tour Big River Steel, which recently was selected for a $3 billion expansion project. Upon completion, this will be the largest capital investment project in Arkansas history. It will create approximately 900 direct and indirect jobs. Mississippi County and Northeast Arkansas will also become the largest steel producing region in America, leading the way for future growth and development across multiple sectors of the American economy. Being able to visit the location of this major expansion was exciting and is a testament to the workforce and environment we have in Northeast Arkansas to support this incredible growth by our steel industry. The jobs this project will create will have far reaching impacts across the entire region. I am proud of the First District for being chosen by U.S. Steel and proud to have supported our local leaders, steel company representatives, and the steel industry as a whole while serving in Congress and will continue to advocate for American steel and steelworkers. No votes this week. The House will be in session on November 14, 2022.
