Dear Comrade,
We have a lot going on this weekend, and there’s still time to get involved!
On Saturday (10/22) at 10 a.m., we have our first meeting to discuss the Abolition Everywhere Akron Area priority campaign. We need to hear from you on how we are going to shape the work that will make our community safer. You can register here, and the full text of the resolution is here.
Later, on Saturday at 3 p.m., we have a membership committee meeting. How can we put our best foot forward with new members, onboarding, and engaging old members? We want to know what engages you in DSA and how we can spread that to others. (Register here)
These meetings are both on Zoom and for members only.
If protesting is your thing, you can take to the streets at 3 p.m. on Saturday (10/22) as part of Fists Across America - a national day of protest against police brutality. That will begin at Grace Park (323 Park St.). Please note, DSA is not involved in the planning of this event, and you should exercise caution if attending. Here are some basic tips to help keep you safe. If you attend, please wear black.
Finally on Sunday (10/23), we will be cleaning up Summit Lake to raise funds for abortion access with ProChoice Ohio. Join us there and/or give a donation!
