Weekend Service Impacts

* Weekend Construction Reroute [ [link removed] ] for *Routes 255, 271, ST 542 and 545*; Transit service to westside destinations will be affected by the closure of the westbound SR 520 Bridge from 11 p.m. on Friday, October 21 through the end of service on Sunday, October 23;
* Overnight Construction Reroute [ [link removed] ] for *Routes 32, 40, and 62*; Transit service will be rerouted in both directions off of the Fremont Bridge from 11:59 p.m. on Friday, October 21 through 6 a.m. on Saturday, October 22;
* Weekend Construction Reroute [ [link removed] ] for *Routes 2 and 12*; Transit service will be affected by the closure of E Madison St and 12 Ave for all hours on Saturday, October 22 through Sunday, October 23;

Recently, Metro?s Safety, Security and Quality Assurance team spent an afternoon assembling 11 children?s bikes for the Rainier Vista Boys and Girls Club in South Seattle.

Rebecca Frankhouser, Metro?s Chief Safety Officer, said her team longed to do a special project to directly benefit the community.?The event worked on several levels, both as a team-building exercise and as a way to give back to the community. Frankhouser said, ?It was exactly what our team needed, working together to create something meaningful for children and this great organization.???

Metro GM Terry White welcomes North America?s transit leaders to Seattle
King County Metro colleagues, regional partners and other APTA TRANSform attendees gather for a reception at the Wonder of Women gallery.

From Oct. 9 to 12, King County Metro hosted transit leaders from across North America for TRANSform, the annual conference of the American Public Transportation Association (APTA). A record-breaking number of people ? more than 3,100 ? attended the four-day event. In addition to meetings and speeches, guests toured Metro?s battery-electric test charging station, our bus and light rail connections in the U District, the King County Water Taxi, bus stop murals in the Central District celebrating Black history and our innovative on-demand service in south King County.

Metro?s new Marine Division Director

We?re excited to announce Terry Federer will be joining Metro as our new Marine Division Director, beginning Oct. 31.

Federer is an accomplished, team-focused leader and maritime educator who is passionate about creating career pipelines and building strong relationships with his team and industry partners. He has a diverse background in the marine industry and currently possesses a U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Merchant Mariner Credential as a 1600-ton Master and Unlimited Mate.?We know his wealth of experience and knowledge will greatly benefit our King County Water Taxi service.
