We got a phone call last week and it led to a great boost in the homestretch. ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏ ͏

Friends,
Today was a special day for our campaign.
Last week, Whip Jim Clyburn got in touch and let me know he’d be in Charlotte for a few hours this morning. He kindly offered to participate in an event.
That’s a big deal for us. Whip Clyburn has played a major role in the history of our country, is a requested presence by campaigns all across the country, and having a few hours of his time means a lot.
Just to press our luck, I asked Cheri Beasley if she might have time to join us, and she did.
Then Rep. Alma Adams said she’d be able to join us, and we knew this had the potential to be a really special morning.
It went even better than we hoped. We started with a roundtable discussion with local faith leaders in Charlotte. Then we changed gears completely and stopped by a local brewery where there was a crowd of about 200 people waiting for us.
Justice Beasley, Whip Clyburn, and Rep. Adams all had powerful, direct messages. If I could distill it down to one paragraph, it’d be this:
This election is crucial. It’s about our future. It’s about our democracy. This Congress has accomplished a lot - more than many pundits thought possible - but there’s much more work to do. Health care, housing, education, and voting rights are all on the ballot. Now it’s crunch time, and we’re going to turn out the vote and get it done.
For our campaign and Justice Beasley’s, it was a great boost of energy — the perfect way to start the final sprint.
With 18 days to go, I’m asking for your support here. We can win, and we can show people the kind of public service that makes them proud.
Thank you for your support, and I’ll see you at the polls!
Best,
Jeff
