Our reproductive rights are under attack from every angle, and Democrats are doing everything we can to defend them. Just this week, President Biden announced that the first bill to come across his desk next Congress should be to codify Roe v. Wade and federalize abortion protections.

If Democrats hold onto the House and Senate this year, enshrining a woman’s right to choose will be our first order of business. We need to make sure this happens, and take this energy to Richmond as well.

John, we know what the GOP is capable of, so we must safeguard the right to choose on a federal level, and on a state level here in Virginia. Republicans are viciously anti-choice. After claiming that abortion rights should be decided by the states, Sen. Lindsey Graham proposed a national abortion ban. And our own Gov. Glenn Youngkin told CNN’s Jake Tapper that he would support a fifteen-week abortion ban for Virginia.

John, the writing is on the wall. We cannot trust Republicans with our fundamental rights. We are in the majority, and now we just need to expand our mandate by sending pro-choice champions like Hala to Richmond (and Washington for that matter).
