Breaking news, John: the GOP just introduced a national version of Florida’s “Don’t Say Gay” bill, which would ban all federal funding toward sex education and LGBTQ-related programs for children 10 and younger.
In another attempt to take us back to the dark ages and limit education on vital issues related to our bodies, the GOP’s latest bill would strip public libraries of programs like Drag Story Hour, ban funding of books on sex education and LGBTQ awareness, and stop age-appropriate development that we already severely lack.
Let’s be frank, John. This bill is just another form of the GOP’s bigotry and hatred and their desire to control our minds and bodies. It even dehumanizes LGBTQ individuals, equating them to sexually explicit material. From abortion rights and bodily autonomy to emergency contraception and sex education, the GOP’s extreme agenda will hurt millions of women and children. That’s why we must do everything we can to ensure high turnout this November and hold our Democratic majority in Congress.
