There’s no question that our weather is more extreme. We’ve had longer summers with hotter weather and unhealthy air — and it’s only getting worse.
Bob is taking action. Bob and Senator Joe Nguyen are proposing legislation to guarantee that a
utility company cannot shut off Washingtonians’ power if it’s hotter than 95 degrees out.
This provides vital — and often
life-saving — protection to Washingtonians as climate change makes extreme weather events increasingly common. Last summer alone, Washington saw record-setting temperatures from Seattle (108 degrees) to Walla Walla (117 degrees).
It is often our most vulnerable populations who suffer during heat waves — Washingtonians with low incomes, seniors, pregnant women, and children are at the highest risk.
This legislation will save lives. Please add your name if you support Bob’s work to keep all Washingtonians safe.
Access to running water and electricity can be the difference between life and death during extreme heat. Bob is working hard to make sure Washingtonians are protected.
Thank you,
Team Ferguson
