October 2022: Join Our Town Hall

I’ve had a jam-packed few weeks in the district. Being in community with you all is my favorite part of the job; from visiting students and teachers in our district, to celebrating the $1 million we secured for job training and workers’ centers, to visiting assistive housing facilities for veterans, to meeting with the Minnesota Federal Reserve Chair to discuss inflation, and to joining an orientation flight with the Civil Air Patrol in Crystal.

School Visit in Brooklyn Center

Earlier this week, I visited Brooklyn Center Elementary. I love visiting with students and teachers in our district. The dedication of these public servants to the children they serve inspires me every day to fight for our future. 

Celebrating $1 million for Job Training and Workers’ Centers  


I delivered a $1 million check to the leaders of African Career, Education, and Resources Inc. (ACER) and their partner COPAL to celebrate the community project funding our offices secured for their project after a tour of local minority-owned businesses.  

Flying with the Civil Air Patrol 

The sky is the limit on what we can achieve together. I joined the Civil Air Patrol for an orientation flight this morning in Crystal. The Civil Air Patrol voluntarily assists with emergency services, search and rescues, and disaster relief. 

Meeting with MN Fed Chair  


I met with Neel Kashkari, President of the Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank to discuss inflation, housing affordability, and wealth disparities in our state. 

Student Debt Relief Application is LIVE 


The student debt relief application is now live. President Biden’s executive order will benefit 43 million Americans including 730,000 Minnesotans. Federal Pell Grant recipients will receive up to $20,000 and non-Pell Grant recipients will receive up to $10,000. You can apply here.
