Hi John,

My name is Steve, and I’m a husband and father of two. So why on earth am I writing you from Mothers Against Greg Abbott?

. . . It turns out that Mothers Against Greg Abbott has a lot of fathers against Greg Abbott too. And we share a lot of the same concerns as our wives.
* I worry that his extreme ban on abortions puts my wife’s life at risk, and one day even our daughter’s.

* I worry that Greg’s guns-for-everyone approach is going to get even more Texas children killed, and that gnaws at me every day our kids leave for school.

* I worry about our power grid failing again in the midst of winter, and again having to answer “just fix it, Daddy,” with an armful of blankets and the thought that I’m not that kind of engineer.

* I worry about what Greg’s doing to voting rights, about our LGBTQ+ neighbors … the list goes on and on.

So I’m going to be a volunteer father against Greg Abbott, knocking on doors for Mothers against Greg Abbott. Because we need everyone who can vote to do so.
