San Diego Zoo Kudos on the KudusThe future of the lesser kudu species is a little brighter—and cuter—with the arrival of two calves at the Zoo. A male was born September 14; and as of September 29, he has a female playmate. The leggy little ones are living with their herd and a herd of Speke's gazelles in their Mesa habitat, across from the polar bears. The kudu herd is part of SDZWA's Species Survival Plan (SSP) conservation efforts. Lesser kudus are found in our Savanna Conservation Hub. | ||||||||
