I don’t want to hear it, JOHN – it’s not politics as usual here in NY-11.

Don’t listen to anyone who tells you that this race between myself and Nicole Malliotakis is simply a fight between two parties; this is a fight for the America we both know is possible and it couldn’t be more important. People across this district know just how crucial it is that we defeat my far-right opponent and I’m counting on your support to get it done.

If you’ve got my back in this fight, I’m asking you to please chip in as much as you possibly can to give this district a representative they can count on.

I’ve centered my campaign solely around the issues. Which, frankly, is easy considering there is so much that I disagree with Nicole Malliotakis on.

When it comes to protecting reproductive rights, Nicole has failed to step up to the plate. She’s voted against codifying Roe v. Wade and even against protecting women and girls who cross state lines to receive abortion care from being criminally prosecuted. In Congress, I was proud to vote for the Women’s Health Protection Act which would’ve codified a woman’s right to an abortion into law.

On gun control, Nicole hasn’t been there for parents who want to send their kids off to school without worrying about a shooter entering their classroom. You can count me among that group of parents because I want the safest possible learning environment for my son, Miles. You have my word that I’ll do everything I can to take on the NRA and ban assault weapons. As an Army Veteran that has handled weapons of war in defense of our country, this is just common sense to me.

And where has Nicole been when people across our district have called on her to make prescription drugs more affordable? I probably don’t need to tell you this but we simply cannot count on her to do that. That’s why, when I’m back in Congress, you’ll find me on the frontlines of taking on the prescription drug companies to lower the cost of life-saving medicine like insulin.

So no, JOHN – the pundits are wrong when they count our race as just another challenge between two parties. The needs of people across this district are significant and they deserve a representative who is committed to fighting for them.

I’m running to be that person but, I have to say, these final weeks are going to prove themselves to be especially tough. We’ve needed to spend more than we ever have and I’m counting on you to help us keep up the pressure across NY-11.

Will you stand with me in this fight by chipping in as much as you can to flip New York City’s only Republican-held seat? My campaign is now within striking distance of my opponent and we can’t take a backseat this close to the election.
