You may remember Heather from her energetic 2014 campaign for governor, and before that as a leader in the Maryland General Assembly. Over the years, I’ve gotten to know Heather in many roles — policy expert, nonprofit leader, farmer/conservationist. What all her activities have had in common is this: a fierce desire to serve the public and make Maryland a better place to live.
Heather has an amazing ability to connect with people of all political persuasions, and that’s how we win in a district like this one.

To be clear, Heather does not win people over by compromising her beliefs. She will never waver on a woman’s right to choose or creating a fair economy, or on expanding health care access to everyone. She is that rare politician who attracts even those who disagree with her, because they can tell that she is honest, full of integrity, cares deeply, and is willing to listen.
I don’t need to remind you how high the stakes are in this election. Our Democratic majority in Congress hangs by a thread.
