Hi there,

I’m Kelly Erin. I’m a volunteer for TrevorLifeline. I’ve spent about 6,240 minutes on the phone with young people for The Trevor Project since July 2018.

I grew up in a small town in Missouri, and I felt isolated and alone. When I came out at 14, I didn’t have role models to look up to. I know firsthand how awful that can be as a queer person growing up.

I wish I could talk to that younger me now. I would tell myself: “You are not alone.”  When I think back about that time in my life, I know why The Trevor Project’s Lifeline is so important to LGBTQ youth across the country. We tell young people every day that they are not alone.

Donors like you made my training possible. You are the reason I’m able to directly connect with young people in need of The Trevor Project’s services. Thank you for all you do to support LGBTQ youth. If you’d like to make another donation in 2019 to support this work, you can do so here.
