Hi, John —
Alderwoman Megan Green here.

I've represented the 15th Ward of St. Louis since 2014 — now, I'm running
to be the next President of the Board of Aldermen to build a St. Louis
that works for everyone. And I’m proud to have Congresswoman Cori Bush’s
support.

I'd like to tell you a story about a huge check, and what it says about
the candidates in this race.

Earlier this month, we learned that my opponent received a $50,000
contribution from Lodging Hospitality Management, the entity that runs
hotels around the region – including Union Station.

I'm supporting the valiant efforts of Union Station employees to unionize,
which Lodging Hospitality Management has opposed. On September 28, I
joined Union Station employees to publicly protest LHM's union busting
techniques.

On October 10, LHM sent $50,000 to my opponent.

How is this a story?

Political donations always tell a story. And here, they tell a story of a
business class that's terrified the people of this City will finally get a
voice.

But they're also intrigued at the possibility that someone who has voted
against raising the minimum wage and has been willing to play ball with
them in the past could be calling the shots as the President of the Board.

The priorities of the people in this race are clear. My opponent is not
hiding who he is. Neither am I.

So I need your help. Our campaign's a lean, mean, fighting machine. I'm
proud of how frugal we are. But an avalanche of cash like this has the
potential to crush a campaign. We need funds to fight back, fast.

Because of you and our friends and neighbors, we've got an amazing amount
of people power. It's our strongest asset, and we use it.

Whether you can chip in or spread the word about our campaign (or both!),
I'm thankful for your support.

In solidarity,

Megan
