We all know locking kids out of school and disrupting their education for over a year, as blue state politicians did, was a terrible decision.
This week, Dr. Fauci had the audacity to claim he had nothing to do with school closures.
As if working hand-in-glove with the teachers’ union bosses to cause the worst learning loss in decades wasn’t enough, the lockdown liberals’ idol Fauci is now gaslighting the American people.
Recent reports show devastating learning losses and achievement gaps in cities and states that kept students out of school for the longest. The effects of these disruptions will affect these young people for their entire lives. Make no mistake: Fauci’s ideology is to blame.
When you lock children out of school, there are going to be irreparable consequences – especially for our most vulnerable students. But power-hungry bureaucrats like Fauci weren’t worried about that. They thought nothing about sacrificing the future of our children for their political agenda.
Fauci and his acolytes are trying to rewrite history, while children suffer the consequences.
If the Left had their way, Florida students would be facing the same fate as kids in lockdown states.
Now, they are beginning to see just how badly they harmed children and are desperately trying to disassociate themselves from their draconian lockdowns. Not because they regret their shameful treatment of students, but because their past policy has fallen out of political favor.
They didn’t care about our kids then and they certainly don’t now, John.
They care about what puts them in the best position politically. They never followed the data. They followed the checkbook of their woke mega donors.
Frankly, John, this is all a bunch of COVID theater.
Fauci and the extreme Left were happy to impose these authoritarian edicts to prolong the misery and suffering they have caused. They want to exercise unchecked power over the people they were never elected to govern.
Their only goal is to take decisions out of your hands and force you to comply with their orders. All they want is power and control over your lives.
But I can tell you this, as long as I am your Governor, your freedoms will always be protected.
In Florida, we foresaw the very real consequences of locking children out of the classroom. We realized the cruelty of denying children an education and fought to keep our classrooms open five days a week.
I received backlash for keeping schools open and kids in the classroom, namely from Fauci and teachers’ union leaders. But unlike the Left, I didn’t base my decision as this state’s leader on political science. I based it on the future of our students.
As a result, Florida students are outperforming their counterparts in other states across the board.
There's a reason why we're known as the free state of Florida: We protected your freedoms, made sure kids were in school five days a week, made sure businesses could operate, and people could go to church.
Now, the extreme Left is attempting to bring their failed agenda to Florida.
We cannot allow that to happen, John.
