Imagine, if you will, a coalition of people hell bent on restricting the voting rights of millions. Their plan? To assume the duties of the highest election administrators in their states and chip away at the cornerstone of our democracy—our freedom to vote. 

One by one, these candidates win their midterm races and assume the office of secretary of state, erecting blockades to the ballot box. As the hurdles rise, the cornerstone crumbles, leading our country away from democracy and into… the Twilight Zone.

Here’s the thing. Halloween is still days away, but we’re getting dangerously close to the Twilight Zone. Candidates in the America First Secretary of State Coalition—like Kristina Karamo in Michigan, Mark Finchem in Arizona, and Jim Marchant in Nevada—getting elected would prove a disastrous blow to our democracy. 

And right now, the races are close! Despite their radically conservative views, many of them are actually ahead in the polls. Talk about the Twilight Zone. 

As much as I love spooky stories and things that go bump in the night, I don’t want to leave anything to chance. It’s up to all of us to educate our friends, neighbors, and fellow Americans about what’s at stake.

The MAGA Republican election-denying candidates in the America First Coalition hope to make voting harder by abolishing mail-in voting, limiting early voting, eliminating voting machines(!), and instating overly restrictive voter ID laws. Worst of all, they plan on calling any elections as they see fit, not in accordance with the will of the people. 

Through texting, you can help encourage voters in key battleground states to support pro-democracy ballot initiatives and secretary of state candidates and join up with other dedicated members of the Stand Up America community. 

Never texted with us before? No worries! You’ll get training on how to use our texting tool, and our platform will provide you with scripted responses and a list of which voters to text. All you need is a laptop, computer, or tablet that can connect to the internet. Even though we call it texting, you won’t need a cellphone to participate and your personal number will never be given out.
