The One-Minute Meeting

I know you are busy so let me give you a quick look at what I have for you today. I hope you click here will take a deeper dive into these topics with me:
The 2020 COVID outbreak didn’t start in New York City but that’s where it got our collective attention and, not to be overly dramatic, the virus is spiking there again.
* So far hospitalizations have not increased
* In some places the sub-variants I told you about Monday, the ones that are so vaccine-resistant, now represent a fifth to a third of the new cases.

To nobody’s surprise, it was Tucker Carlson who told millions of Americans that the CDC was about to force children to have COVID vaccines to go to school. It is not true. The CDC did add COVID vaccines to its recommended list of childhood vaccines, but states make the decisions on what to require. I will explain the logistical reason that the CDC makes such recommendations.
I will try to persuade journalists to dedicate some space/time to ask candidates running for Congress and the U.S. Senate to address foreign policy issues that have a direct effect on every American. For example, shouldn’t we ask candidates:
* If China takes military action to control Taiwan, what American response would you support? What would you unconditionally oppose?
* Under what conditions would you support direct American military action to support Ukraine against Russia?
* What are three Congressional actions that you would support to control the flow of immigrants seeking to enter the southern U.S. border?
* Whether they would note to maintain the Paris Accord agreements or shift back toward fossil fuel production and dependance.
