It's never been more important that everyday people have an advocate in Congress, John.
Across the country, families are feeling the squeeze of inflation while corporations continue to see sky-high profits.
Like so many people in St. Louis and across the country, Cori knows what it's like to live paycheck to paycheck and struggle to put dinner on the table. That's why Cori's looking out for workers and everyday people.
Since day one in office, Cori has prioritized supporting workers and everyday people trying to get by in an economy not designed to prioritize them. Take a look:
→ Last year, Cori traveled to Bessemer, Alabama to stand in solidarity with Amazon workers fighting for their right to unionize.
→ Earlier this year, Cori stepped up on the House Oversight Committee to lead the fight to investigate Amazon’s dangerous safety practices that contributed to the death of six workers, including two of Cori's constituents, when a tornado hit.
→ In September, Cori introduced the Workers Safety In Climate Disasters Act and Wind Safety Standard Act to ensure workers are protected during climate disasters.
→ Then, last week, Cori called on MOHELA to stop interfering with the economic relief of millions in response to Missouri's lawsuit challenging the Biden-Harris Administration’s student debt relief plan.
We know that economic issues are racial justice issues, family issues, education issues, and more. What's decided in boardrooms and behind closed doors at centers of power has broad effects on aspects of daily life. For too many of us, these choices have a disproportionately negative impact with little regard to the burden we’re left with. Having Cori and advocates like her in the room makes a world of difference.
If you can, will you chip in $5 or more today to help keep Cori in Congress fighting for us?
Building an economy that works for everyone will take all of us. Let's keep up the fight,
Morgan Lowe
