John, as a kid, no matter how busy my mom and dad were, we always sat down as a family to eat dinner together.
When I became a parent myself, I carried on this same tradition with my own family, and there was always an open seat and a full plate for anyone who wanted to join us.
While the food was usually delicious (especially once my son Matt started doing the cooking), the best part of dinner was always the conversation. We came together as a family around the kitchen table to celebrate wins, talk through problems, and identify solutions – from the highs and lows of high school to the issues facing our country. It was a time to pray together, reflect together, grieve together, laugh together, find connection, and dream big as a team.
I firmly believe that kitchen table issues have kitchen table solutions. If you want to solve the problems that a community, state, or country faces, you should start by pulling up a chair and listening to the conversations families have over dinner.
Although I wish I could invite every single person on this team over to my own kitchen table, unfortunately, with the election just around the corner, that's not feasible. So instead, I'm inviting you to participate in my Dinner Table Priorities survey. Please, can you take just a moment to complete my survey before 11:59 p.m. tonight?

For me, leadership has always been about listening. That's how I led my family as a parent, that's how I best advocated for my patients as a nurse, and it's how I will lead Missouri as your next senator. I will always put families before politics, and I will be nobody's senator but yours.
That's why input from grassroots supporters has always been so central to this campaign. And now, as we head into the final days of this election, I need to hear from you again – to hear what problems your family faces, what worries keep you up at night, and what you're most hopeful for.
Your answers to this survey will be incredibly helpful in informing our campaign strategy for our Get Out The Vote efforts. I'm reviewing responses first thing tomorrow morning, so I need to hear from you ASAP. Please, will you make your voice heard tonight? With the election so close, hearing from grassroots supporters like you is incredibly important to our campaign.

Thank you so much for all that you do,
