Election officials in several states are raising concerns this year about a surge of election-conspiracy believers who are signing up as poll challengers. They are trained by people who have propagated the lie spread by former President Donald Trump and his allies that the 2020 presidential election was riddled with fraud, then sent to deliberately disrupt voting on Election Day.
We welcome anyone, no matter their political affiliation, to be a poll watcher and see for themselves how our process works. But I will not let voters be intimidated out of casting their ballot.
