Hi there — In just a moment, I’m going to ask you to pitch in to help us protect and expand our Democratic Senate majority. [[link removed]] But first, I hope you’ll give me a chance to explain why this is so important.
Back in 2010, I was finishing up my last term as Mayor of Denver. At the time, Democrats had majorities in the House and Senate and President Obama was in his first term in the White House. But then, it all went south.
Folks began to tune out, grassroots energy dropped, and fewer folks turned out to vote in the midterm election. Democrats lost 63 seats in the House — the entire majority — and six more in the Senate.
By the next midterm in 2014, Republicans won nine new Senate seats and full control of Congress. Mitch McConnell turned the chamber into a tool of obstruction, letting important bills pile up, collect dust on his desk — and well, you know the rest.
But it’s not all bad news. This team has what it takes to overcome right-wing mega-donors — we’ve done it before! But with so much critical work still ahead, we have to do everything we can to protect our Senate majority and keep the gavel from falling back into McConnell’s hands.
So folks, I’m humbly asking you to pitch in to support our work to protect our fragile majorities in Congress.

This incredible grassroots team helped us take back the Senate majority in 2020, and for that we’re so grateful. Together, we can protect it and continue fighting for progress in Washington.
Thanks for reading and chipping in if you can.
