What Julie is talking about in this video—it’s bigger than just Red states, or just Texas.

Texas is the GOP’s testing ground for their most extreme and radical ideas. If we don’t step in and fight this, right at the root,—it's just a matter of time until what’s happening here is infecting everywhere else.

And by then, it will be too late to escape.

As Democrats, oftentimes we shy away from direct combat with the GOP. We rely on policy—maybe too much—hoping the solution will be enough to convince voters.

We ignore all the stuff underneath—the simmering hatred, the emotional fervor that Republicans bring to the ballot box, the fear mongering on Fox News, the blatant misogyny that’s really behind these abortion bans . . . .

But right now, there is too much at stake for those kind of blinders: They will stop at nothing. Unless we make them.

We have two options: either we band together now and defeat Republicans in Texas this election, or we wake up to some nightmare version of America that none of us want to imagine.

The choice is ours, however much Greg Abbott wants to rip our choices away. ([link removed])
