Just a couple of months ago I did something I’d never done before: I wrote to you on behalf of Maggie Hassan with a specific ask. I asked you to chip in to her campaign and join me in supporting the Senator’s fight for reelection.

I reached out because with the Senate split 50-50, the GOP only needs to flip one seat to regain control of the chamber and return Mitch McConnell to the Majority Leader’s office. And they are all in on flipping this seat, which Maggie Hassan won by just 1,017 votes.

When I first reached out it was already clear that Maggie was going to need all hands on deck to win a decisive race in an incredibly purple state.

But since then, I’ve watched as the GOP has flooded the Granite State with tens of millions of dollars in smears against Maggie; I watched as Republicans selected Don Bolduc, the most extreme candidate in modern New Hampshire history to run against her; and I watched as her opponent proved time and time again that he is dangerously wrong for New Hampshire and this country. We’ve got to make sure we help Maggie beat this guy.

One of his most recent statements had my jaw on the floor. He said, point blank, that “as a man,” he believes women’s most personal decisions about abortion “belong” to Republican “gentlemen” lawmakers.

Yeah, you read that right.

This is just the latest in a long line of extreme anti-choice positions from Bolduc: he said he would never vote against pro-life legislation and when asked about the threat of a nationwide abortion ban he told women to “get over it.”

We need to pull together to make sure this guy never gets the power to actually make these decisions for women. And that means putting everything we’ve got behind Maggie.

We still have time to make a real difference in this race but only if we act decisively and immediately.
