I’m out in the district today, wrapping up some final campaign stops for the day, and wondering when I’ll get a response from Tony Gonzales about a debate in this race.

In case you missed it, I sent a certified letter to Tony a few weeks ago challenging him to a debate — and I haven’t received a response yet.

To be clear, I believe the people of TX-23 deserve to hear us debate about the issues that matter most. We should be debating the future of the energy industry here in Texas, and our plans for TX-23: rural development, immigration reform, border security, and gun safety.

But Tony is choosing to stay silent. And the truth is, his plans for TX-23 are supported by his big-money backers, not the families of this district.
