John:
Victory Institute doesn't just train the next generation of LGBTQ leaders in the United States - we also work in countries across the globe. And in countries like Peru, Colombia or South Africa, running for office as an openly LGBTQ person can bring great risk.
But our international trainees are not deterred, fearlessly choosing to run regardless. Like Guatemlan Congressman Aldo Iván Dávila Morales, who we trained in 2018 and in 2019 became the first openly gay man elected to Congress and the first HIV-positive representative:

Guatemala has slowly moved towards greater acceptance of the LGBTQ community, but like many countries, still struggles with outdated bigotries and has few LGBTQ protections enshrined in law. But since Aldo's election, he's prioritized increasing access to health care, and defending LGBTQ rights. His election signals a positive shift toward LGBTQ progress. We're so proud to stand with Aldo.
We're working on expanding our international trainings to even more countries, so we can help more people like Aldo run for office. Help us hit our $20,000 End of Year goal today! [[link removed]]
Thanks again,
