In Sierra Leone, where immunization is valued, but not fully adhered to, researcher Anne Karing worked with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation and IPA to test the impact of a small social incentive on parents' decisions to take their children for vaccinations. Children received differently colored bracelets, that were highly visible, signaling whether and to what extent they had completed their immunization schedules.
