Hey folks,
Education is the cornerstone of a multiracial democracy and schools are where we learn to engage in society in meaningful ways.
Still, parents, students, and educators across the country are experiencing a climate where far-right attacks have made our schools playgrounds for partisan politics and racial division — through book bans, anti-critical race theory legislation, attacks on LGBTQIA students and educators, bans on comprehensive sex education, and ignoring the calls for student mental health support.
Join Women’s March, MomsRising, and parents from across the country on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 (4:30pm PST, 6:30pm CST, 7:30pm EST) for a teach-in on truth over fear and to learn ways to advocate for safe, honest, and inclusive education as the foundation of a just democracy.
Saving Our Schools: Activating Parents in an Age of CRT-Backlash Teach-In will feature keynotes from Professor Kimberlé Crenshaw and Ibram X. Kendi, stories from parents, and ways to take action. Topics we will cover during the teach-in include:
RSVP for this virtual event and join parents and caregivers across the country as we push back on these attacks and save our schools >>>
Following the event, a comprehensive digital toolkit will be shared with attendees with resources for taking action and activating your community!
See you next week,
Women’s March
