The Tories have shown they no longer have a mandate to govern.John xxxxxx, after just six weeks in office, Liz
Truss has resigned as Prime Minister.

The Tories have shown they no longer have a mandate to govern.

They cannot respond to their latest shambles by yet again simply clicking their
fingers and shuffling the people at the top without the consent of the British
people.

After 12 years of Tory failure, the British people deserve so much better than
this revolving door of chaos. We need a general election now.

In the last few years, each one of the crises made in Downing Street has been
paid for by the British public. Each one has left our country weaker and worse
off.

It's time for a general election.

My promise to you:

As your Prime Minister, I will deliver the stability and leadership Britain
needs.

Labour’s Green Prosperity Plan will create millions of jobs in the industries of
the future, bring energy bills down, tackle climate change and grow our economy.

As part of it, we will create a publicly owned, clean energy company, GB Energy,
so that Britain won’t have to face another energy crisis like the one we are in
now .

This is our strong, secure and fair plan that benefits everyone:

For our economy.

For growth.

For working people.

After 12 years of Tory failure, Britain deserves better.

Only Labour can give the country the fairer, greener future we all need.

Thank you,

Keir Starmer
Leader of the Labour Party
