A record-number 160+ anti-LGBTQ+ policy bills have been proposed in numerous states – many blocking access to gender-affirming medical care, banning LGBTQ+ books from schools and libraries, and others banning even the mere discussion of sexual orientation or gender identity in classrooms. The purpose of these anti-LGBTQ+ efforts is to censor, silence, and erase the LGBTQ+ people we love. This simple truth has guided PFLAG’s work: We lead with love, whether that means meeting people where they are in heart-softening, mind-changing conversations—or leading efforts in the streets, in state houses, and all the way to the ballot box.
