EXECUTIVE UPDATE

Dear John,

We're locked in a fight for the health of our kids and, in my case, grandkids. Tobacco products have no place in their lives, yet in two short years flavored e-cigarettes have become an inescapable presence in middle and high schools across the country.

Over six million middle and high school students used tobacco products this year.

As we head into 2020 with youth tobacco use rates at a 20-year high, I ask that you consider making a year-end contribution to help us reverse this trend.

Your gift at the $1,000, $500, or $250 level will go a long way in the fight to end the youth e-cigarette epidemic. Donate today >>

While the e-cigarette crisis has dominated the news cycles and much of our attention, we remain as active as ever advocating for proven policy interventions that drive down all forms of tobacco use. This includes expanding smoke-free laws, raising the price of tobacco products, ensuring funding is earmarked for prevention and cessation programs, and restricting the sale of all flavored tobacco products.

We're also focused on directing support where it's needed most. Tobacco use rates are far higher among certain populations and in states that have not adopted strong tobacco control policies.

GLOBAL IMPACT

Around the globe we are equally hard at work. The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids is the leading international advocacy organization working to save lives by reducing tobacco use, through the adoption and implementation of proven policies. We've worked in more than 60 countries to train journalists, educate advocates and lawyers in tobacco control law, and help governments and civil society win court victories against the tobacco industry.

Our Global Health Advocacy Incubator builds on the success and lessons learned in our fight against tobacco to strengthen local advocacy capacity to improve public health on a range of issues.

A CRITICAL NEW YEAR

Collectively, our work is saving countless lives and unquestionably making our world a healthier, more just and equitable place for all. 2020 is an absolutely critical year, and I hope you will consider making a contribution to support our work.

With your support, we'll intensify our efforts to end the youth e-cigarette epidemic, combat tobacco-related health disparities among our most vulnerable populations, and expand our life saving tobacco and public health advocacy across the globe.

Thank you for joining us in this fight.

With gratitude,

Matt Myers
President
