Remember in 2016 when I repeatedly warned people that Donald Trump would win Michigan? Almost no one believed me that year.

I am working hard right now, going to as many places as I can from farmers' markets to union halls, education events, football games, Harvestfests, hospitals, and senior centers. My “gut-a-meter” is very worried. This election has not broken in Michigan.

Many of the races in Michigan are tightening and the outcomes of those elections will impact so many issues you and I care about.

I see the same TV ads, billboards, and mailers that you do. I know national Republicans and special interest groups are spending millions in Michigan because our state is one of the most critical battleground states this year. Quite frankly, I am deeply disturbed by what I am seeing. The fanning of fear, hatred, and attacks on our democracy. People I love and know are being pitted against each other. We have to stand together and keep up our work. It isn’t an overstatement to say our democracy is under attack and threatened.

We are working hard to organize volunteers in MI-06 where turning out votes will be critical for the top of the ticket and some of the most competitive state house and state senate races. Some of these races could come down to just a few votes, which is why we need to keep knocking on doors and reaching voters one-on-one.

You know I don’t like asking you for money, Team, but here’s the deal. I must raise significant dollars to counter the millions of dollars being spent in all these races. People are counting on me to deliver.

We have less than three weeks before polls close, and every vote matters in this election. Too many people believe polls that aren’t real, think their vote doesn’t matter, or don’t care what happens. Nothing could be more wrong.

We need you. Urgently. I hate asking for money but this is so urgent, I must.
