Friend, like you, I'm frustrated. I'm frustrated that Marco Rubio has refused to take any meaningful action to prevent gun violence – all while taking more than $3 MILLION from the gun lobby. 

Val Demings: How long will you watch people being gunned down in first grade, fourth grad, high school, college, church, synagogue, a grocery store, a movie theatre, a mall and a nightclub, and do nothing?

After the tragic shooting in Parkland, Marco Rubio broke the promises he made to the families of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. When it came time for meaningful gun violence prevention legislation, once again, he did nothing.

The Pulse Nightclub shooting was in my district. And I remember when Rubio talked about Pulse in his 2016 reelection bid. And yet he has still done nothing to prevent it from happening again. 

So at our debate, I asked him a simple question: Senator Rubio, how long will you watch people being gunned down in first grade, fourth grade, high school, college, church, synagogue, a grocery store, a movie theater, a mall and a nightclub and do nothing?

Friend, Marco Rubio will never see past his own self-interest long enough to enact real change – and Florida deserves better. Our country deserves better. That's why I'm running to defeat Marco Rubio. But as I approach my FINAL FEC DEADLINE at midnight tonight, I need your help.

I'm about to miss tonight's goal at the worst possible moment: Polls show me TIED with Rubio – just as he's outspending me in key areas of Florida. Missing tonight's goal in a race this tight could mean losing on Election Day.
