John,

I know you have heard so much about my stance on policies and why I am running for the U.S. Senate. So today, I want to tell you about my personal story.

I was raised in Waukegan, Illinois to very hard-working parents. Their dedication to work rubbed off on me and I got my first job busing tables at the age of 14. As the oldest of nine children, I knew that I had to set a strong example for my siblings.

I attended Loyola University and decided that I wanted to continue helping others. So, I committed myself to public service. I served as a judicial clerk, then became an Assistant Public Defender. After success in trials, I decided to enter the private practice of law, which has been filled with fighting for those who have been wronged.

During my careers, my husband and I were blessed with six children. Now, we are blessed with three grandchildren. Although I have loved my careers, my best job has been being a mother and grandmother.

My careers have shown me the lessons of hard work, dedication, and serving others. Now, I am dedicating myself to be your Senator, John. I want this nation to have a bright future, and we need a strong leader to make this happen.

Can I count on your support, John?

 Thank you,

 Kathy
