New Orleans DSA - Weekly Update

Greetings Comrades! Hope everyone is having a wonderful week.

Mark your Calendars. The date of our General Membership Meeting will be next Saturday, October 29th. We'll be gathering at the First Unitarian Universalist Church at 12 noon. This month we will be discussing:

  • The Fall Voter Guide, including a resolution to make a recommendation for Public Service Commissioner.

  • A website launch (!) for our Entergy Municipalization campaign, and an outline of next steps.

  • A group discussion on what DSA New Orleans role has been and can be as far as local, state, and federal elections. We'd love to hear your thoughts!

  • As always, if you have an agenda item or announcement, drop us a line at [email protected].

Last’s month’s meeting was very well attended and it would be great to keep that momentum going! Can't make it in person? You can attend online by registering here. Can't make it at all? Ask for a proxy in advance by emailing [email protected]!

Looking forward to seeing you there!

Here's what else is going on this week:

Tonight, Wednesday, October 19th from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM, join the Health Justice and Direct Service Committees as we plan our Brake Light Clinics and Health Fair. Register for the meeting here.

Also tonight, Wednesday, October 19th from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM, join the Voter Guide Team as we wrap up the upcoming November 8th election guide and discuss local politics. Register for the semi-weekly calls here.

Tomorrow, Thursday, October 20th from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM, the Entergy Municipalization campaign will be meeting to plan taking back control over our power! Zoom link here.
