Democrats won’t be able to hold the House next month if we don’t win in swing districts like Eric Sorensen’s in Illinois’s 17th District.

I’ve been through a number of midterm elections, and I can honestly say that this one is the most consequential. The stability of our democracy is on the line, and we need to elect Democrats like Eric who will prioritize upholding our democratic institutions and focus on the economic challenges facing the American people.

 

Here’s a few reasons Eric’s race is incredibly important:

  • The election in IL-17 is extremely competitive. The polling I’ve seen shows a toss-up, and we all expect this to be one the most tightly contested House races in the country. It’s crucial that all blue seats stay blue in order for us to keep the House.

  • Republicans are spending crazy amounts to flip this seat. Dark money groups like House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s super PAC have been consistently funneling big money into helping Eric’s opponent, Esther King.

  • There’s a ton on the line in November. I have little doubt a Republican Majority would try to pass a nationwide abortion ban – and Eric’s opponent is a staunch opponent of reproductive rights.

With the stakes of this race so high, can you make a donation of $5 right away? Eric needs a strong showing in these last few weeks, and falling short could cost us our Majority – an outcome I simply can’t allow.

We need leaders who have earned the trust of their constituents – and Eric Sorensen is one of them. Let’s show Eric we have his back and help him keep IL-17 blue.
