John,

Meet Ella Paligo.

Ella is always looking for a way to make an impact. She’s currently a senior in high school in Henderson, Tennessee, where she’s equally involved with her school and community. Whether it’s being a key part of her school’s student government, helping incarcerated individuals as they prepare for release, or continuing to advocate for a tobacco-free future, Ella has always been willing to go the extra mile to make the world a better place.

Ella and her friends started a public health group with her friends before eventually joining the Sumner County TNSTRONG Ambassadors – which we recognized with our 2022 Group Youth Advocates of the Year award!

“Being as brave and persistent as possible – that’s how you’re going to get somewhere with the change you want to make.”

Our National Youth Ambassadors are high school students who have demonstrated leadership in fighting tobacco in their communities. These advocates are chosen annually as representatives of their state through a competitive application process. They receive training and participate in activities throughout the year. This profile series showcases their incredible work!

Look out for a new profile every other Wednesday.
