Hello John,
I wanted to tell you a little bit about my life and why it's so important to me to fight for progress in the Senate. But first, if you're able, will you chip in to help us power this work?
I’m the daughter of a teacher and a newspaperman. I’m the granddaughter of an iron ore miner. No one expected me to run for elected office.
And not many people expected me to win my first local election or my Senate race, either. I was outspent by my opponents and Minnesota had never elected a woman to the U.S. Senate. But I defied the odds and won.
Since becoming a Senator, I’ve fought for families and workers and have worked to deliver results on our country’s most pressing issues -- including ensuring affordable health care, lowering prescription drug costs, addressing climate change and protecting our democracy.
That’s why I’m here. But I can’t do this alone. This work isn’t about me, it’s about all of us and continuing to make progress on the issues that matter most. And today, I’m asking you to make a contribution to help us keep moving forward.
