I am about to ask you to make a contribution to my Senate campaign in North Carolina. Our critical FEC fundraising deadline is fast approaching, and I want to explain why this is such an important request.
The people of North Carolina deserve a leader who understands the issues hardworking families are facing and who's ready to get to work for real solutions. That’s not the kind of leadership we’re getting from Senator Thom Tillis.
Since the day he stepped into office, Tillis has done the bidding of shadowy players who fill his campaign coffers. He has supported the Trump-McConnell agenda even when it’s wrong for North Carolina. And he has been weak on the issues that matter most to our communities.
For too long, people like Tillis and the corrupt special interests influencing our elections have worked to stifle progress instead of moving us toward a better future.
I have had enough of it, John — and so have the people of North Carolina. That’s why our campaign is leading in the polls and why Tillis has one of the lowest approval ratings of any U.S. Senator. No one trusts him to get the job done and deliver the change we’ve been waiting for because he’s too deep in the pocket of his wealthy donors.
So today, while we have the momentum, we cannot afford to take our foot off the gas. It’s critical we have the resources to match Tillis’ war chest and the many McConnell-backed super PACs and special interest groups that will attack me in the new year.
Now, here comes the part where I ask for your help:
Can I rely on you to make a contribution of any amount to our campaign as a way of showing Thom Tillis and his special interest allies that we’re ready to win this election? Anything you can give before our final FEC deadline of the year will go a long way in 2020.
North Carolinians are ready for change. Let’s give it to them.
