Oct. 22 Wine Off the Fox wine list announced
Events mixes wine and music to help benefit
breast cancer support services ?
From August Hill Winery?s sweet crisp Caramel Apple to Fox Valley Winery?s semi-sweet Grandma?s Blush to First Fiddle Winery?s richly textured Cabernet Sauvignon, a dynamic selection of 20 wines will be featured at Wine OFF the Fox presented by Xfinity on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Venue 1012 in Oswego.
The outdoor wine tasting and girl band concert was planned by the Village of Oswego to highlight breast cancer awareness month. The American Cancer Society, The Edward Foundation and Rush Copley/Waterford Place Cancer Resource?Center will receive 10% of the ticket proceeds. A breast cancer awareness program, Stand By Me, will take place during the intermission of the two music performances. ?
Attendees can sip from a wide variety of wines from local, national and international wineries including August Hill Winery?s Angel of Hope, Moscato and Sweet Catawba; Fox Valley Winery?s Blue, Corruption Red and Syrah; Village Vintner?s Oktoberfest, Sangria Blood Orange and Goji Temptation; Lapis Luna's Ros?, Folktale Winery?s Sparkling Ros?, Guinigi?s Prosecco Ros?, The Loop Sauvignon Blanc from Barker?s Marque and StoneCap Wines? Merlot. A full list of wine and other beverages is available online.
Oswego Brewing Co. will be onsite pouring Oktoberfest and Stone Skipper craft beer and a signature pink vodka lemonade cocktail will be mixed by hand at the event. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be served. Local food vendors include Hell?s BBQ, Dark Horse Catering, Salerno?s Red Hots and Fancy Nancy Charcuterie Boards. People may also bring their own picnic and snacks. Outside beverages are prohibited.
Jersey Girls, an energetic trio of female vocalists, will headline Wine Off the Fox with today?s hits and favorite tunes from Whitney Houston, Beyonc?, Aretha Franklin, Queen, ABBA, Bee Gees and the Four Seasons. Serendipity, an all-girl band from the Chicago suburbs, will get the crowd dancing with their toe-tapping set of hits from the ?60s, ?70s, ?80s, ?90s, 2000 and beyond.
VIP tickets are still available for purchase, providing early entry from 1 to 2 p.m. before?the event opens to all attendees, 20 tasting tickets, appetizers, table seating near the stage and a performance by the female duo Gershwin to Gaga.
Tickets are available online before the event or may be purchased onsite for an additional $10.
