But before I do that, I want to talk a bit about what we’re fighting for — because elections really aren’t about the zingers and sound bites that that get so much of the attention. They’re about the policies we implement and how those policies affect people’s lives.
And John, I’m running proudly on my record of what we’ve gotten done together here in Colorado.
We’ve fought hard to save money for Coloradans using every tool we have — including by reducing property taxes, eliminating state taxes on seniors’ Social Security benefits, and reducing prescription drug costs.
We made record investments in our students’ success, increasing teacher pay, lowering class sizes, and making full-day kindergarten free to all.
We’ve taken bold action to reduce toxic air pollution, fight climate change, and create good-paying jobs in the growing renewable energy sector.
We are protecting the right to choose, the right to vote safely and securely by mail, and the right of LGBTQ+ people to live openly and without discrimination.
