When our team decided to set a goal of raising $3 million by midnight on
December 31st, I have to admit I was skeptical.

It’s a massive goal.  But on the other hand, this campaign is entering a
new phase, so I do believe it’s possible.

I know you get emails all the time from Zach and Carly about how we intend
to use the cash we raise.  So I want to talk to you about the vision I
have for this country -- and how hitting our individual goals all point us
in the direction of making that vision possible.

I’m running for president because I can see the problems coming around the
bend.  Automation, self-driving cars and trucks, and tech companies
eliminating millions of our retail jobs while paying zero in taxes.

I’m running because I can see that our leaders aren’t equipped to or
interested in solving them.  They’re not bad people, they just haven’t
seen what I’ve seen.  They come from different environments and
backgrounds.  And Washington, D.C. has failed us one too many times for us
to keep relying on a status quo politician.

I’ve dedicated the last 10 years to fighting for the future of this
country, by creating jobs in struggling towns and cities, and bringing
these issues to light for all Americans to see.
