The District of Columbia General Election is happening Tuesday, November 8! All active registered voters will automatically receive a ballot in the mail for the 2022 Midterm Election. However, any DC voter who expects to be away from their DC residence during the election must request a mail-in ballot by Monday, October 24. If you need to request a mail-in ballot, you should do it as soon as possible to allow time for processing and mailing.

Instructions on how to vote and return your ballot will be included along with your ballot. If you choose to return your completed ballot by mail, it must be postmarked on or before November 8 , and must be received by the Board of Elections no later than November 15.
If you prefer to return your completed ballot in person, you can take it to any Vote Center during the Early Voting period (October 31 through November 6) or on Election Day, November 8.
