AUGUSTA, Maine?? The Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry's (DACF) final?Foliage Report?for October 19 indicates past peak conditions throughout most of the state. Peak conditions are occurring along the coast in zone one with high leaf drop (more than 70 percent).
"For those who are adventurous and still want to catch a glimpse of the fall colors, a hike in and around the blueberry barrens in DownEast Maine is a must-see. Barrens ablaze with the fall colors never disappoint! For those of you who plan to visit Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, you will be required to wear a mask in indoor spaces due to an uptick in COVID-19 transmission levels," said Gale Ross, fall foliage spokesperson. "As we close the books on this spectacular fall foliage season, let's give a hearty shout-out and thank you to all our leaf lovers and everyone who shared their memorable fall foliage photos with us."

Follow the 2022 Maine fall foliage forecast and take advantage of these event and activity tips and ideas for colorful road trips throughout Maine:
- Enjoy the coastal foliage at OgunquitFest 2022 taking place this Friday through Sunday. Enjoy October weather during events like the outside artisan and vendor craft fair, live music, classic car show, DogtoberFest costume parade and an Oktoberfest party. While in Ogunquit, don?t miss the chance to walk Marginal Way, an easy one-mile paved coastal path winding along the Atlantic with unbeatable panoramic views.
- For other ways to enjoy the coastal foliage this weekend, explore the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens during their last weekend of the season. For a more adventurous take on leaf-peeping, try your hand at rail cycling or even rock climbing in other areas within the Mid-Coast.
- Later this month, while the foliage will eventually fade and the leaves will continue to drop, other annual events will continue throughout the season, like Harvest on the Harbor, October 27-29, providing unique food and beverage-focused events.
- This is also a perfect time to stop by a farm stand for the late season harvest and other Maine products.
