We know the road to public transit funding can be a long one, but Voices for Public Transit is excited to celebrate a major victory as the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) recently announced historic new investments in our nation’s buses, bus facilities, and zero- or low-emissions vehicles. |
The FTA’s new grants will provide $1.66 billion for states, territories, and public transit agencies through two federal programs to help modernize and improve buses and bus facilities, as well as increase our national fleet of zero- or low-emissions vehicles. These investments will help communities continue to reduce emissions, improve and expand public transit, and support a stronger American economy. The FTA grants are something we can all celebrate!
We couldn’t have gotten to this point without the hard work and advocacy of all the Voices for Public Transit members who have spoken out for increased investment in public transportation over the past 18 months. Thank you for all your support!
