This is why NPH is doing our part by offering Voter Registration materials in several languages, available for download! Check out our palm cards and window posters, and help mobilize your community today!

Houser Training on the Horizon: Prevent Pest Infestations!

Everyone deserves a safe and healthy home, and that includes a pest-free environment. Join us on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, 12:00PM - 1:30PM PT, for Preventing Pest Infestations as we look into strategies for keeping people in our affordable housing units and keeping the bugs out. This session will provide an introduction to Integrated Pest Management (IPM), an overview of a relevant project, and an examination of the results, highlighting key strategies and challenges.

The fifth cohort of NPH’s Community Advocacy & Voter Engagement (CAVE) Certification Program begins TOMORROW, October 20 and continues through November 18!

Through CAVE, participants gain strategies for how to help create a culture and practice of advocacy within their affordable housing community, empowering residents to participate in elections and policy outcomes that directly impact their lives.

New Shift the Bay Resource: Let’s Talk About Housing!

The Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) recently released Let's Talk About Housing: Communications Guide for Local Government, which uses Shift the Bay research, conducted to help local policymakers and government staff hold productive conversations with residents about housing planning.

This guide can help you prepare your region’s Housing Element, address Housing and Community Development (HCD) comments about your public outreach, and inform effective communication with your residents.

Closing Soon: The Grounding Values Survey

The deadline to complete the Urban Institute’s national survey of community development nonprofits is this Friday, October 21. 

The National Alliance of Community Economic Development Associations (NACEDA) commissioned the survey to demonstrate the unique ability of community development nonprofits to advance equity and community prosperity. 

If your organization has not received an invitation to complete the survey, fill out this survey request form. All respondents will be entered into a random drawing – and 100 of them will win a $100 Visa gift card!

Join the Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo as they highlight their partnership and power to heal and transform our communities.

10/22, Enterprise: 40th Anniversary National Conference: Join Enterprise as they celebrate 40 years by bringing together leaders, advocates, and innovators in affordable housing to tackle today’s most pressing issues and prepare for the future.

 

10/25, AHSC R7 Draft Guidelines Workshop - Central Valley Join Enterprise as they celebrate 40 years by bringing together leaders, advocates, and innovators in affordable housing to tackle today’s most pressing issues and prepare for the future. Workshops will include an AHSC 101 presentation, along with discussion on some of the changes found in Round 7 Guidelines.

11/4, HFHGSF: Framing the Future The Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities (AHSC) Program invites you to attend a public workshop to learn about the AHSC Program and discuss Round 7 Guidelines with stakeholders.

 

11/9, SPUR: Modular Construction in Affordable Housing In 2019, JPMorgan Chase awarded a grant to EBALDC to further research the benefits and constraints of using modular construction in order to reduce costs and accelerate affordable housing production in the Bay Area. Join them to learn about the successes and challenges in utilizing modular construction in affordable housing development.
