President Biden has made it clear: the best way to protect abortion for millions of Americans is to codify protections into law. If we elect a pro-choice majority this November, the first bill he sends to Congress will codify Roe.

This is big news but we can’t leave anything up to chance. We need to elect politicians committed to protecting reproductive freedoms to every level of government in Maine. To protect abortion both nationally and in Maine, we must re-elect pro-choice politicians to fight for us in Congress and in Augusta.

The Maine GOP platform is blatantly anti-abortion. The party is throwing money behind candidates like Peter Lyford, who believes in a total abortion ban — with no exceptions for rape or incest. And of course, Paul LePage made headlines for his flip-flopping answers to abortion questions during the first debate.

Radical anti-abortion organizations and GOP leaders are doing everything they can to stop us, and this news from President Biden will only motivate their attacks. We are in the last few weeks of these races and we cannot waste a moment in this fight.
