John —
Across Oregon, people are frustrated and struggling to make ends meet. With rising prices for gas, groceries, and prescription drugs, I know what those kitchen table conversations sound like.
I started my career at Oregon Food Bank, hearing directly from folks all over the state who were struggling, many working hard and still feeling left behind and in need of help.
As House Speaker, I worked hard for working families – increasing the minimum wage, capping insulin prices, and protecting renters from eviction. And as Governor, I will continue to keep fighting to make housing, child care, and health care more affordable.
My plans include:
- Lowering prescription drug costs for Oregonians by partnering with other states to help keep prices down.
- Addressing our affordable housing shortage by building more workforce housing across the state.
- Improving access to child care by cutting the red tape that limits where home-based child care providers can operate.
- Holding companies accountable for stealing wages from workers by increasing enforcement on bad employers and ensuring justice for victims of discrimination in the workplace.
- Giving all Oregonians a fighting chance to develop new job skills by providing more access to community college, job training, and apprenticeships while also expanding access to high-speed internet.
There’s a lot a Governor can do to help hard-working Oregonians make ends meet. I’ll work every day to lead with that goal in mind.
But before we can create change, I’ve got to win this election, John. Can I count on you to contribute $10 or more to protect our economic future? Ballots will hit mailboxes TODAY, so this really is a critical important moment to support us.
