Monday, my team reached out to tell you about our FEC fundraising deadline. In a moment, I’m going to explain how we got to the amount we’re trying to raise before then, and why it’s so important that we hit it. To prepare for these final weeks, I worked closely with Abe, my campaign manager, Brooke, my finance director, and the rest of my team to plan for the challenges ahead. We are facing one of our toughest challenges yet now that a Kevin McCarthy-aligned PAC increased their investment in Connecticut to an outrageous $3.2 million.

It’s critical that we fight back, John, and the best way we can do that is by showing the full strength of our grassroots team.

We watch our budget closely, and we never ask for a penny more than what we need. Every dollar folks like you chip in to our $10,000 goal will go directly toward helping us put forward a strong public report, defend the Democratic majority in the House, and ensure the radical right never gets its hands on our communities.

We have a tough fight ahead, but here’s the truth, John: I have won tough races before. In fact, when I was first elected to Congress it was by just 83 votes – the closest margin of any Congressional race that year. So I know that with your support once again, our people-powered team will have what it takes to win.
