Continue the Monument-Making

Last week, President Biden designated his first national monument—Camp Hale-Continental Divide—and expanded protected lands at the Sand Creek Massacre National Historic Site. This is important progress, but there is more work to be done toward conserving our lands and waters.

Send a message to the Biden administration calling on them to keep up the momentum and continue to protect more of our lands and waters.

Celebrating 50 Years of the Clean Water Act

Fifty years ago, Congress passed the Clean Water Act, giving the EPA much-needed authority to protect our waterways after centuries of nearly-unchecked pollution. While the Clean Water Act made significant progress in cleaning up our waters, these protections are increasingly under attack by corporate polluters.

Tell Congress to defend and strengthen our clean water protections!

Sugarcane Field Burning Is Devastating Communities in South Florida

Saturday, October 1, was the first day of the 2022-23 sugar harvest season. The continued use of pre-harvest sugar field burning exposes nearby communities to toxic smoke and ashfall for six to eight months every year. Now, the Stop the Burn Go Green Campaign is asking members of Congress to modify the Farm Bill to incentivize burn-free green harvesting.

Tell Congress to end the racist, toxic, outdated practice of pre-harvest sugar field burning.

Protect Bears Ears

A year ago, we celebrated President Biden's restoration of Bears Ears National Monument, but our work to preserve this special place is not over. Now, we must ensure that Tribal expertise and traditional knowledge will lead the monument's management.

Submit a comment to the Bureau of Land Management and the US Forest Service to let them know it's critical that they collaborate closely with the Bears Ears Inter-Tribal Coalition.
