Dear John,
Dangerous pesticides have been linked to bee declines nationwide. Beekeepers reported losing nearly half of their hives last winter, and over the last twenty years monarch butterflies have declined by 97% in the western United States. Scientists warn we're on the brink of a "catastrophic collapse of nature’s ecosystems."
This is the kind of news we’ve all become used to hearing, and we’re close to outrage fatigue at this point. Another day, another warning of some looming environmental catastrophe. We’re not fighting or fleeing so much now, as we’re frozen in a sense of hopelessness and horror.
Well snap out of it, baby! Because if you elect me president we’re going to get to work and reverse all this. We’re going to have a world class environmental expert at the head of the EPA, and the most brilliant scientists working with him or her to coordinate a mass mobilization effort to repair and reverse the damage we have done to our ecosystem.
When it comes to saving our planet for future generations this president will not take no for an answer. And neither should you. Click here for the Williamson administration environmental plan.
This is not an issue around which we can afford to do anything other than lead the world in a radically new way of being with the earth—a way that’s full of reverence, devotion, and respect for the ways of nature. We need an effort that is nothing short of a massive mobilization to save the world for our children’s children, as huge and important as anything any generation of Americans has undertaken.
And we can do that. In fact, we must. This campaign is just step one in an entire season of repair...
Please give generously, and give today.
All my best,
Marianne
